When I worked at Borders, there was a book I always thought would make a great coffee table book called The Secret Language of Birthdays. You guys have any more good coffee table books?Īny of the Postsecret books (yeah, there's more than one!) make great books for guests to just pop open and scan through. That's my favorite coffee table book because there's no actual reading necessary, and it's extremely interesting to flip through. The Wikipedia article has some of the prints show as well to give you an idea. The dude took things that are pretty much pond scum and showed us how stunningly beautiful they can be! There are depictions of all different plants and animals drawn beautifully and arranged artfully. My favorite is Ernst Haeckel's Art Forms in Nature (German: Kunstformen der Natur) It has 100 beautiful prints that this German biologist published at the beginning of the 20th century.
